Draft for review. Effective date: [to be set at launch].

Summary

Sugar Khata keeps your blood sugar diary and, if you choose, books a paid call with a doctor. Your health data is sensitive, so we collect only what the app needs, we never sell it, we never use it for advertising, and you can see, correct, download or delete it.

What we keep: your sugar readings, a short profile, and, if you book a doctor, your booking details, prescription and rating.
Who sees it: you; the doctor you book (only what is needed for your call); and our small admin team, to check payments.
What we never do: sell your data, show ads, or share it with insurers or employers.

Who we are

Sugar Khata is run by [legal name of the business or person], [address], Bangladesh ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at [privacy email] or on WhatsApp at 01780-444466.

What Sugar Khata is

Sugar Khata is a Bangla-first diary for people who test their blood sugar with a home glucometer. It does not measure blood sugar itself. Sugar Khata is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always ask a qualified doctor for medical advice.

What we collect and why

Blood sugar readings and prescriptions are health data, which Bangladesh's Personal Data Protection Ordinance 2025 treats as sensitive. We process them only with your explicit consent, which you give when you start using the app and when you book a doctor. You can withdraw it at any time.

Data	When we collect it	Why
Name, preferred language, unit (mmol/L or mg/dL), diabetes type	When you set up the app	To show the app in your language and units, and to label your report
Blood sugar readings, with date, time and meal timing	Each time you add a reading	To keep your diary, show colors and trends, and make your 30-day report
Photo of your glucometer screen	Only if you use the photo button	To read the number for you. The photo is sent to our AI service to read the number and is not stored by us
WhatsApp number	When you book a doctor	So the doctor can call you and we can send your confirmation
bKash transaction ID (TrxID)	When you pay the advance	To check your payment. We never ask for your bKash PIN or OTP
Booking details: doctor, time, booking code, status	When you book	To manage your appointment and show the countdown
Pre-visit form: medicines, other illnesses, notes, photos of old prescriptions and tests	Only if you fill it in before a call	So the doctor can prepare for your call
30-day sugar summary	When you book (shared with your chosen doctor)	So the doctor can see your pattern before the call
Prescription photo	Added by the doctor after your call	So you can see and keep your prescription in the app
Star rating and comment	Only if you rate a consultation	To improve service quality
A random device code	When you first open the app	To keep your bookings separate from other people's

We do not collect your location, contacts, or anything else on your phone. We do not use advertising or tracking tools.

Doctors on Sugar Khata are independent registered practitioners. They keep your information confidential under their professional duties. We never sell your data and never share it for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Your diary is saved on your phone. If you are signed in, it is also saved securely online so it is not lost if you change phones. Our hosting and AI providers may store or process data on servers outside Bangladesh, under contracts that require them to protect it. [Before launch: name each provider and confirm how this meets the Ordinance's rules on cross-border transfer and local copies.]

How long we keep it

Readings and profile: until you delete them or your account.
Bookings, payments and prescriptions: [3] years after the consultation, so you and the doctor can refer back to them, unless the law requires longer or you ask us to delete them sooner.
Meter photos: not kept after the number is read.
Ratings and comments: until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Under Bangladesh law you can:

See the data we hold about you.
Correct anything that is wrong.
Download your data. Use Settings, then "Save a backup file".
Delete your readings in the app, or ask us to delete everything.
Withdraw consent at any time. The app will stop collecting new data, though we may keep booking and payment records the law requires.

To use any right, contact us at [privacy email] or on WhatsApp at 01780-444466. We will reply within [30] days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority of Bangladesh.

Children

Sugar Khata is for adults. Anyone under 18 may use it only with a parent or guardian who agrees to this policy for them. Many families set the app up for an older parent. If you do, please make sure the parent understands and agrees.

Security

We use encrypted connections and access rules so that only you, your chosen doctor and our admin team can see your booking details. Other users can never see your data. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone locked. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will show a notice in the app before the change applies. For a major change, we will ask for your consent again.
